The 13th Annual Aspiring Young Artists' Competition

The Leduc Art Club is Proud to Present
The 13th Annual Aspiring Young Artists' Competition

The Leduc Art Club is excited that we will be hosting our 13th Annual Aspiring Young Artists' Competition during Black Gold Rodeo June 1, 2024. The students works from this show will be open to the public for viewing from June 1-14th in the Leduc Arts Foundry.

Black Gold School Division (BGSD) is partnering with the Leduc Art Club for the Aspiring Young Artists' Competition! The Division invites all grades 10-12 Fine Art and Career & Technology Studies (CTS) teachers to select pieces of high quality student artwork from each school to submit to the showcase. The BGSD Board of Trustees will adjudicate the high school student art Showcase and may choose to purchase up to 3 pieces for the Division's Permanent Art Collection, which proudly displayed at the Division Office in County Centre, Nisku.

The Aspiring Young Artists Competition is for students in grades 10-12. Students have their work adjudicated by professional artists on June 8, 2024 to have an opportunity to win monetary prizes. An Awards Gala Ceremony will take place in the evening of June 8, 2024 7-9pm.

The Leduc Art Club is honoured to be hosting our 13th Annual Aspiring Young Artists' Competition for youth within the City of Leduc and area. It has been an amazing experience over the last 13 years for students and the Leduc Art Club. We have been able to work in collaboration with The City of Leduc to give back to the community by putting this event on by our volunteers. The Leduc Art Club has  fostered an incredible relationship while working in collaboration with schools in Leduc, and surrounding areas. We are very thankful for the businesses within the City of Leduc and  Leduc Arts and Cultural Foundation who provide us with the much-needed funding and donations to make this phenomenal yearly event such a success!

We are really excited to have Black Gold School Division collaborating with us to give students an opportunity to be part of a permanent collection.

Local grade 5 students are invited to draw rodeo and rural pictures.  Schools that participate, are entered to win Rodeo tickets, Leduc Recreation Centre gifts, classroom pizza parties and have their works shown at the LRC on the big screen in the arena during the rodeo!  Pictures will be shown inside the Leduc Recreation Centre windows for everyone to enjoy during Rodeo.
