Leduc Arts Foundry located in the Leduc Recreation Centre
Your work will be exhibited in Leduc Arts Foundry, award winning selected works will move
into the Front Gallery.
Over $3000+ monetary prizes available!
All submissions to be juried for individual monetary prizes..
Selected pieces to be adjudicated by the Black Gold School Division Board of Trustees to be
purchased for the Division's Permanent Art Collection.

Who can enter?
-Grades 9, 10, 11, and 12 students attending an accredited school/program in the Leduc area
-There is no artist-entry fee for this show.
-Students need to be sponsored by their art teacher.
NEW THIS YEAR! We are pleased to announce that the Black Gold School Division (BGSD) is partnering with the Leduc Art Club for the Aspiring Young Artists’ Competition!
The Division invites all Grades 9-12 Fine Art and Career and Technology Studies (CTS) teachers to select pieces of high quality student artwork from each school to submit to the showcase. The BGSD Board of Trustees will adjudicate the High School Student Art Showcase and may choose to purchase up to three (3) pieces for the Division’s Permanent Art Collection, which is proudly displayed at the Division Office in County Centre, Nisku.
How and when do I enter?
Art is entered online using our website www.leducartclub.com. The link is at end of this information.
Students can enter starting February 28, 2023 up to and including May 26, 2023.
What can I enter?
Up to 3 pieces of 2 D or 3D art. You choose the medium.
All art must be original - no reproductions.
Photography and computer-altered original photography allowed.
Digital Art and Digital Drawings in JPG and PNG format allowed.
Art can be created in class but the instructor must not have physically assisted in the creation.
Art must be dry and have a hanging device that will work with a pegboard hook.
Art must have been created in the last 2 years.
Art can be for sale.
Please include a artist statement for each piece
Each student may enter up to 3 pieces of art in total. (If we have room for more pieces, we will contact your teacher).
All 2D art maximum outside dimensions framed or unframed – 26”x38” or 1000 sq. inches.
3D art –same size restrictions.
Maximum 100 pieces of art will be registered
When do I deliver my art?
Friday, June 2, 2023 between 4pm-6pm. At the Leduc Arts Foundry in the Leduc Recreation Centre.
When do I pick up my art?
Friday, June 30, 2023 between 3:00pm-7:00pm
Sold art will be picked up by the buyers Friday, June 30, 2023 between 3:00pm-7:00pm
Award pay out
Please provide an email or phone number that is able to accept e-transfer for the monetary price when you fill out your submission form.
Upload quality images of your art
You MUST provide and upload high-quality images of your work. Make sure there are no shadows, reflections on the paintings & drawings. You MUST save the image as Your name_painting name_medium_size.jpg We will use these for our website. Here is info on taking proper photos.
Do I need to frame my art?
It is mandatory for all 2D work to have suitable wire and screws for hanging.(Wire must be heavy enough to support the art.) Drawings must be mounted onto poster board or foam core 1" bigger on all sides. This is so the drawing can be hung for display without damaging the work.
Who juries the shows?
The jurors for the AYAC portion are professional local artists.
The Black Gold School Division (BGSD) Board of Trustees will adjudicate the art and chose to purchase up to 3 pieces to their Permanent Art Collection.
Student art is adjudicated by grade and subject/medium.
Consent forms
There are two consent forms required to be filled in. Please fill out both forms, upload them with your submissions or send as an attachment to ayacssubmissions@gmail.com
Leduc Art Club Disclaimer
The Leduc Art Club is not responsible for any damage to art left at the show. We will be careful handling and displaying the art but it is left at students’ risk.
How does the Club protect my personal contact information?
Leduc Art Club Collection and Use of Personal Information
This information is collected for the purpose of organizing the Leduc Art Club/Black Gold School Division Aspiring Young Artists' Competition. When the show is over and all prize and art sales e-transfers are issued, the personal-contact information on show documents used by the Leduc Art Club Show and Sale Committee computers will be shredded/deleted. Photos and the names of the winners may be posted (but not limited to) on our webpage, Facebook, Instagram, posters and appear in newspapers.
