The 15th Annual Aspiring Young Artists' Competition
The Leduc Art Club is excited to host the 15th Annual Aspiring Young Artists' Competition during the Black Gold Rodeo. Student artwork from this show will be open to the public for viewing June 1 – June 12, 2026 at the Leduc Arts Foundry.
The Aspiring Young Artists' Competition is open to students in Grades 10–12 from Black Gold School Division, St Thomas Aquinas Catholic School Division, Outreach, and Home School. Students will have their work adjudicated by professional artists for the opportunity to win monetary prizes.

The Black Gold School Division (BGSD) is partnering with the Leduc Art Club for the Aspiring Young Artists' Competition. While the competition is open to students from all school divisions, BGSD invites Grades 10–12 Fine Art and Career & Technology Studies (CTS) teachers to select high-quality student artwork from their schools to submit to the showcase. The BGSD Board of Trustees will adjudicate the high school student showcase and may choose to purchase up to three pieces for the Division’s Permanent Art Collection, proudly displayed at the Division Office in County Centre, Nisku.

The Leduc Art Club is proud to continue this annual tradition celebrating young artists and the creative talent within Leduc and surrounding communities, made possible through the support of local volunteers, and local businesses.
Grade 5 students are also invited to participate by creating rodeo and rural-themed artwork. Participating schools will be entered to win rodeo tickets, recreation centre prizes, and classroom pizza parties, and selected artwork will be displayed during the rodeo and at the Leduc Recreation Centre.
