Join Bruce for a 5-week “Beginning Acrylics” painting course designed to introduce you to the essentials of acrylic painting. This course will be conducted in a step-by-step format, making it ideal for beginners and those looking to build a solid foundation in acrylics.

Throughout the course, you will explore composition, color theory, shapes, and perspective. Bruce will share valuable insights on selecting equipment, using reference materials, and applying techniques that he has mastered over decades of artistic experience. Over the 5 weeks, you'll work on two complete paintings, applying what you’ve learned to create finished pieces from start to finish.

About the Instructor:

Bruce Whaley has been drawing and painting for over 50 years.

Capturing the essence of the subject matter in landscapes and an accurate likeness in portraiture is his primary goal. Bruce’s landscape paintings tend to be inspired by lighting, atmosphere, and the natural beauty of the land. His scenes are created from everyday sights and events, personal experiences, and travels and are painted in his own realist style, using loose brushwork and simplified details. This leaves something to an individual’s imagination and allows everyone to “see” the art in their own way. Retiring from the regular workforce in 2015, Bruce is now creating art full-time, always trying to do a little better with each new work.
