This workshop takes place over 7 consecutive Thursdays per session

Children will be instructed in pencil initially, studying different ways to make lines, proportions and shading. They will also be taught how to use pastels, watercolor, acrylic paint, printmaking and sculpture.
Subjects will range from cartoons, figures, still life and nature. (All supplies included)

About the Instructor:
David Shkolny was born in 1969, in Pinawa, Manitoba and grew up in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta. He first attended Red Deer College and later obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree (Major - Painting and Printmaking) from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in 1992. David works in soft pastels, acrylic, oil and printmaking. He spends many hours painting, sketching and gathering resource material on location in Alberta and across Canada.
David has been teaching art for twenty years, and has a specialization in pastel. His work can be found in public collections like the University Hospital and Fort Saskatchewan City Hall. He was recently selected by Unison Colour, a company in the UK that makes pastels, to be an associate artist.
