Texture! Texture! Texture! Learn to create an expressive winter landscape using cold wax, oils, palette knife, and catalyst tools. Experience the expressive layering, texture, mark-making and the ability to work fast and bold. Cold wax medium is a dense paste – it is excellent in creating a variety of textures within a painting. It has a “short” characteristic and gives a clean break off the brush or knife, retaining the sharp peaks of impasto.

Oksana will teach a simplified approach to painting this impasto winter landscape by breaking it down into basic shapes and values. Follow her demonstration step by step while learning the characteristics of oil paint and cold wax. You will be amazed at what you can do with a limited colour palette and some basic mixing. A great start for new oil painters as well as artists who want to add new techniques to their repertoire!
