The subjects I choose to paint are like a diary to me. I am inspired by nature, emotions and memories that are captured with rich oil paint, exaggerated colors and brushwork. I get excited to bring what I see to life on canvas by my own interpretation. I love to challenge myself with new subjects such as portraits, still life, painting outdoors. Studying and exploring with other artists has influenced my work, as I can see my styles can vary in my paintings.

This old barn door was purchased by hubby at a garage sale in our neighborhood.
There was something really special about this weathered old barn door with flecks of red paint still showing, rusty hinges and the window probably long gone! The door was a perfect frame for a picture I took in the country at a u-pick flower farm!

I am so happy I was able to bring new life to a piece of our history. Just imagine all that was seen on the inside and outside of this door window. So I had to paint what would be inside the barn…..a horse of course!
