Keara Driessen
Keara Driessen grew up on a little acreage just outside of Millet, Alberta, where creativity
and a love for the outdoors naturally shaped her artistic journey. Now 24, she works in
communications and design in the non-profit world by day, while dedicating evenings and
weekends to painting.
Though she has explored many mediums, her heart lies in oil painting, which she has been
pursuing seriously for the past four years. She also enjoys experimenting with gouache,
embroidery, and collage, embracing exploration as an important part of her practice.
Keara’s work showcases loose brushstrokes and bright colours that help her move past her
perfectionism. Her subjects often include Albertan mountain-scapes, local flowers, and still
life inspired by the magic she finds in everyday life.
She continues to grow her skills through the Reaching for Mastery classes at the Leduc Arts
Foundry, and is also a new member of the Leduc Art Club this year. Keara loves being
surrounded by like-minded people and finds encouragement and inspiration in the
community of fellow artists.
