Suzanne Dee
Suzanne Dee was born in Ontario, Canada. While art was always present in Suzanne’s upbringing, with her grandfather sketching everything he saw in the Scottish fields, and her mother painting using oils, she herself did not take up art seriously until later in life. She has delved into sketching live models, various aspects of watercolor- to embracing a life changing art program providing intense learning and practice of various mediums including drawing, oil, charcoal, inks, pastels, acrylic and mixed media.
Suzanne believes that life is a journey where many possibilities are presented to us. No matter the road we go on, no matter how bumpy or curvy it may be, we have many choices. If we fall we can choose to stay down, or, we can get back up and keep on moving–keep on growing. Coming from a country with majestic views, Suzanne paints nature and people in magical ways. Suzanne says, “My artwork represents a world where transformation happens”.
Suzanne’s studio is open year round and is filled with amazing things ‘art’. She relishes in using inks, stencils and rollers. She is grateful to have a place, the Leduc Art Club, where she can be amongst like minded artful people. Suzanne is currently developing a new series focusing on wildlife in the magical and resilient lands of Africa.
