Awards Presentation & Artwork Pick-Up: June 13, 2025 | 7:00 - 9:00 pm

Awards Presentation begins at 7:15 PM. Participants may collect their artwork once the ceremony has concluded.

Where is the Show?
Your work will be exhibited in the Leduc Arts Foundry, located in the Leduc Recreation Centre
Who Can Enter?
Open to Grades 10, 11, and 12 students attending an accredited school/program in the Leduc area.
There is no artist-entry fee for this competition; however, all students must be sponsored by their art teacher.
Monetary Prizes Available!
All submissions will be juried for individual monetary prizes. Selected pieces will be adjudicated by the Black Gold School Division Board of Trustees for potential purchase into the Division's Permanent Art Collection.

Jury Process
-
AYAC competition jurors are professional local artists.

The Black Gold School Division Board of Trustees will select up to three (3) pieces for their Permanent Art Collection.

Artwork must be for sale to be eligible for selection.

Artwork is adjudicated by grade and subject/medium.
Award Payouts

To receive your award - you must be present at the awards ceremony on June 13, 2025. Awards will be provided via EFT to the email provided on your registration form.
Submission Guidelines

Students may submit up to three (3) pieces of 2D or 3D artwork using the submission form below
-
All artwork must be original (no reproductions).
-
Photography and computer-altered original photography are permitted.
-
Art must be created without direct physical assistance from an instructor.
-
Art must have been created within the last two years.
-
Artwork may be for sale.
-
Each piece may be accompanied by an artist statement (Max 150 characters).

2D Art & 3D Art have a maximum 26”x38” or 1000 sq. inches (framed or unframed) size restriction.

Maximum 100 pieces of artwork will be registered.
Uploading Your Art & Consent Forms

Students must provide high-quality images of their submissions within the registration form below.

Ensure no shadows or reflections on paintings/drawings.

Please refer to this document on how to take proper photographs of your work.

File Must be named as: LastName_FirstName_Title_Medium_Size.jpg

Two consent forms must be completed and uploaded with submissions.
Framing & Mounting Requirements

It is mandatory for all 2D work to be dry and to have suitable wire and screws for hanging. (Wire must be heavy enough to support the art.)

Drawings must be mounted on poster board or foam core with a 1-inch border on all sides for display.

The Leduc Art Club is not responsible for any damage to artwork left at the show. While every effort will be made to handle and display artwork with care, it is left at the student’s own risk.
Personal Information Policy

This information is collected for the purpose of organizing the Leduc Art Club/Black Gold School Division Aspiring Young Artists' Competition. When the show is over and all prize and art sales e-transfers are issued, the personal-contact information on show documents used by the Leduc Art Club Show and Sale Committee computers will be shredded/deleted. Photos and the names of the winners may be posted (but not limited to) on our webpage, Facebook, Instagram, posters and appear in newspapers.
