Beginner Acrylic Painting

Paint:

Any brand of tube-style bod paints similar to this are available at Michaels:

The colours included are Titanium White, Lemon Yellow, Yellow Ochre, Orange Red, Vermillion, Crimson Red, Scarlet, Light Green, Sap Green, Hooker's Green, Cerulean Blue, Ultramarine Blue, Phthalocyanine Blue, Purple, Burnt Sienna, Burnt Umber, Lamp Black, Gold, Silver, Copper, Metallic White, Metallic Purple, Metallic Blue, and Metallic Black.

Preferred colours: Titanium White, Cadmium Yellow Medium, Yellow Ocre, Cadmium Orange, Cadmium Red Light, Alizarian Crimson, Burnt Sienna, Burnt umber, Cercean Blue, Cobalt Blue, Ultramarine, Sap Green

Optional Colours: Prussian Blue Dioxazine Purple, Magenta, Raw Sienna, Cadmium Yellow Light

Canvases:

2 -12x16" Canvasaes

Brushes:

1 - Line Brush (sometimes called a 'Rigger Brush')

1 Each - 1/4", 1/2", and 3/4" Flat/Bright or shader brushes

Optional -  1" Blender Brush

Paper pad. I will give them some suggestions during the first session.

 

A large yogurt container or similar container for water and

Note for Beginners:

Beginner students for your first assignment you will be provided with 2 colours, titanium white and burnt umber paint, brushes, palette paper and 1-8"x10" canvas, Maki will provide the thinner. Maki will give you a photo to work from. Once you have completed your first assignment you will be required to purchase the above supplies. Please bring a plastic bag to put your oil rags in to take home and a box to transport your painting home a pizza box works great.
